Proud to present this special vintage Rudi Gernreich Design for Harmon Knitwear Plunging V Neck Dress in excellent condition. Marked sz 8, this fits nicely on a small-sized dress form, and snugly but still comfortably on a sz M. The material is a lightweight knit wool (not itchy - I tested and I am sensitive!) The fabric is unlike any wool I've seen - very soft and stretchy - providing a perfect form fit. The plunging V is crepe silk and I don't care what you put in there, it's going to look good❣️Upon extremely close inspection, I see a few threads stretched within the V - please see closeup photo. Otherwise, shockingly, no flaws to note! What a beautiful relic from the 1960s avant garde!!!
Measurements to follow. Please DM with any questions.
Fore more info (from Wikipedia):
Rudi Gernreich was an Austrian born American fashion designer whose avant-garde clothing designs are generally regarded as the most innovative and dynamic fashion of the 1960s. He purposefully used fashion design as a social statement to advance sexual freedom, producing clothes that followed the natural form of the female body, freeing them from the constraints of high fashion.
He was the first to use cutouts, vinyl, and plastic in clothing. He designed the first thong bathing suit, unisex clothing, the first swimsuit without a built-in bra, the minimalist, soft, transparent No Bra, and the topless monokini.
